Jane Austen's masterpiece "Sense and Sensibility," which has been beloved worldwide, has confirmed its domestic release date for October 28th.

The film "Sense and Sensibility" (Director: Georgia Oakley │ Distributor: Universal Pictures) will have its Asian premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival's World Cinema section ahead of its release, giving domestic audiences an early chance to experience the film.

Jane Austen's debut novel "Sense and Sensibility," which holds an unparalleled position in Western literary history, is a classic masterpiece that has captivated readers worldwide for generations. The story follows two sisters—the rational eldest sister Eleanor who always makes logical decisions and the younger sister Marianne who remains true to her emotions—as they make different choices when faced with love. The narrative of the two sisters displaying contrasting emotions and choices will unfold on screen anew, and is expected to deliver sensibilities fitting for the autumn season.

The announcement of the official invitation to the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which will be held from October 6th to 15th, is particularly drawing the attention of film enthusiasts. The World Cinema section, which encompasses new works from established non-Asian directors and emerging filmmakers as well as award-winning films from prestigious international film festivals, illuminates the overall trends of global cinema for the year, making this invitation highly significant.

The cast is also impressive. Daisy Edgar-Jones takes on the role of the rational eldest sister Eleanor, delivering nuanced emotional performances. Esme Creed-Miles is cast as the emotionally-driven younger sister Marianne, adding a multidimensional narrative to how the two sisters confront love and life. George MacKay joins as Edward, elevating the emotional depth further.

The film is directed by Georgia Oakley, whose directing prowess has been recognized through her winning work at the 79th Venice International Film Festival. Not only does she capture the contrasting personalities of the two characters in meticulous detail, but she also portrays the classical landscape of 19th century England like a painting, delivering a classic atmosphere.

"Sense and Sensibility," which has been officially invited to the 31st Busan International Film Festival and promises a special meeting with audiences, will have its official release on October 28th.
