'Hope', which has garnered attention for its original story, has confirmed promotions in Vietnam and North America, followed by consecutive official invitations to world-renowned film festivals.
'Hope' (Director/Screenplay Na Hong-jin / Production Posed Films / Co-production Plus M Entertainment, Westworld Inc. / Presented/Distributed by Plus M Entertainment) will proceed with local promotions on September 1-2 ahead of its Vietnam release on September 4. Director Na Hong-jin and actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon will participate in official schedules including press conferences, premiere red carpet events, and meet-and-greets. Ahead of its North America release on September 9, the team will visit major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, and San Francisco from September 7-15 to participate in local screenings and Q&A sessions.
Film festivals worldwide are also extending invitations. Following previous selections for the 79th Cannes Film Festival, 25th New York Asian Film Festival, 51st Toronto International Film Festival, and 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival, 'Hope' has also been selected for the Panorama section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival opening on October 6. The film has also received invitations to major genre film festivals such as Germany's Fantasy Film Fest, adding to the momentum.
'Hope' tells the story of how an entire village is put on alert after Beom-seok, the head of a branch office at Hopo Port located in the Demilitarized Zone, receives news of a tiger's appearance.
'Hope', which has begun its full-scale global expansion, is currently being screened in theaters nationwide.
