'Hope,' which has garnered attention for its original storyline, has confirmed promotions in Vietnam and North America and has been officially invited to successive world-renowned film festivals.
'Hope' (directed and written by Na Hong-jin / produced by Posed Films / co-produced by Plus M Entertainment and Westworld Inc. / presented and distributed by Plus M Entertainment) will hold local promotions from September 1st to 2nd ahead of its September 4th release in Vietnam. Director Na Hong-jin and actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon will participate in official schedules including press conferences, premiere red carpet events, and meet-and-greets. In line with its September 9th North American release, from September 7th to 15th, the film will visit major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, and San Francisco for local screenings and Q&A sessions.
The film is also receiving love calls from world film festivals. Following invitations to the 79th Cannes Film Festival, 25th New York Asian Film Festival, 51st Toronto International Film Festival, and 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival, it has been selected for the Panorama section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, which opens on October 6th. The film has also received invitations from major genre film festivals including Germany's Fantastic Fest, adding to the momentum.
'Hope' tells the story that unfolds when Beom-seok, the head of Hopohang Outpost located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears news of a tiger appearing, and the entire village goes on alert.
'Hope,' which has begun its full global expansion, is currently being screened in theaters nationwide.
