MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Ground' has completed its star-studded lineup with Han Hyo-joo, Gong Myung, Kim Shin-rok, and Sung Joon, marking the beginning of its full launch.
'Your Ground' (Planned by Namgung Sung-woo / Directed by Lee Sang-yeop and Kang Chae-won / Written by Hwang Hae-yeon / Produced by Studio S) is a healing romance drama about baseball player Kang Hae-hwan, whose career has been halted by a single failure, who meets sports agent Seo Hee-seung, a former lawyer, and pursues his dreams once again on the ground. Director Lee Sang-yeop, who has demonstrated his delicate directorial skills through 'Yumi's Cells,' 'Her Private Life,' and 'Shopping King Louie,' and writer Hwang Hae-yeon with her fresh writing style have joined forces, raising expectations.
Han Hyo-joo takes on the role of Seo Hee-seung, a sports agent and former lawyer. Seo Hee-seung is a skilled lawyer who has never lost a trial and is dispatched to accompany a sports agency at the instruction of her law firm's representative, unexpectedly stepping into the world of professional baseball. Despite knowing nothing about baseball, Seo Hee-seung, driven by her exceptional competitive spirit, jumps into the world of sports agents and reunites with her first love Kang Hae-hwan after 11 years, facing a life-changing curveball. Han Hyo-joo will lead the story, oscillating between her unrelenting charisma and charming, quirky reverse appeal.
Gong Myung plays Kang Hae-hwan, a right-handed pitcher for the Miracles who was once regarded as the next ace. Once called a genius pitcher during his high school years, Kang Hae-hwan fell into a prolonged slump following a shocking incident that changed his player career. He reunites with Seo Hee-seung, who volunteers to be his agent, and begins a journey to return to the mound. Gong Myung will delicately portray his growth as he overcomes his setbacks while delivering excitement through his reunion romance with Han Hyo-joo.
Kim Shin-rok takes on the role of Dong Chi-young, the representative of Korea's top sports agency Donhaeng, anchoring the center of the story. As a veteran and cold-blooded negotiator who designs not only players' contracts and salary negotiations but also their entire lives, Kim Shin-rok will complete Dong Chi-young with solid acting skills.
Sung Joon plays Yoon Yi-seok, a side-armed pitcher for the Miracles and Kang Hae-hwan's rival. While Hae-hwan was away, Yi-seok rose to become the team's ace. He hopes for Hae-hwan's return but faces him as an unavoidable rival on the mound. Sung Joon is expected to richly unfold the complex emotions oscillating between friendship and competition, and genuine feelings toward Seo Hee-seung.
MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Ground,' featuring these individuals entangled as players and agents, friends and rivals, is scheduled to air for the first time at the end of 2026.
